I think it’s strange that (to me, anyway, and from what I gather the majority of other people think this as well) it looks better for a woman to dress as a man than for a man to dress as a woman. I read somewhere that this was an example of how women are in a lower status in society; it’s okay for them to “move up” to the status of a man but not for a man to “move down” to the status of a woman. I think that’s ridiculous, the idea of a man being condemned for dressing as a woman.
Yet, at the same time, I can’t help but feel slightly uncomfortable and think that a man dressed as a woman, unless he looks 100% like a woman, just looks weird. I don’t think it’s a bad or wrong thing, and power to whoever wants to dress this way, but it still just looks weird.
